Ten Things About Me

1) I love toasted cheese sandwiches. I could happily live on them but then I’d be pretty boring and borderline weird.

2) Shopping gives me the greatest pleasure. I don’t necessarily have to make a purchase. I just go home get out the laptop and write about what I saw in the shops. Not good for the economy but good for my wallat.

3) I run styleisle from my living room. I have a desk, a chair, a lamp, thousands of magazines kept according to title and in date order. I have a thing about organisation.

4) I’m scared of flying but seem to be on a plane to somewhere about every fortnight. Have thought about renting a small space in the airport for a tent and somewhere to store a load of plastic sealable bags for the lotions and potions. I always forget them and the security person gives out to me. Have ended up crying once or twice.

5) I am a qualified and Chartered Accountant, and I went to college for 7 years. This is my day job. Styleisle’ opening hours are from 7ish to whenever I get tired and have to go to bed or else I won’t be able to get up for work.

6) I was in a photoshoot with Elvis Costello when I was 19. The shoot was shot by Rankin. Oh yeah, I’ve been modelling for about 12 years.

7) I love period dramas. I have every version of Pride and Prejudice ever made. I think. Maybe missing one….

8) I don’t like when people don’t thank the bus driver. It’s nice to say thanks for getting me home ok.

9) I have the same pencil case from first year in secondary school. I have never had need of another one.

10) I played Joan Collins in a 2nd class adaptation of a screening of the Late Late Show as our Christmas play when I was 7.

Seriously…what styleisle is about

styleisle.ie was established in 2009 by Lorna Weightman. Lorna is the latest fashion blogger who’s burning desire for all things fashion started at an early age by playing dress up in her mum’s clothes (like all little girls do).

This led to a love of designers, dresses and denim which eventually sparked the idea for a fashion forum.

Lorna has no formal qualification in fashion or journalism but her opinions and views come from years of trawling through fashion magazines and studying Irish street style. Styleisle.ie was born as Irish women evolve into chic fashionistas who are not afraid of a little style adventure.

The website gives women a chance to see the latest fashion tips, trends and get an insight into the lives and careers of professionals who work the style 9 to 5.
