Yes well the luxurious leather of Tods can now be yours at the hottest outlet in the country so pop down to have a look!

Victoria Secret is nearly here…well it’s opening in London

Last week the most famous lingerie retailer announced it is opening in London in the Summer of 2012. According to the Telegraph, the spot chosen to house the store will be on New Bond Street and promises to be everything the stores in the US currently offer. Head over to the Telegraph, to read the whole article!

Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood and Yoox.com have joined forces with the UnitedNations Agency, the International Trade Centre (ITC), in a new creativecollaboration, which provides dignified long-term employment for some of theworld’s most marginalized people while protecting the environment. Thisis a unique system of sharing talent, sharing skills and sharing responsibility forthe environment.

For this season’s Autumn- Winter 2011/12 Ethical Fashion Africa collection created through the programme, Vivienne Westwood and the team were joined ontheir first venture to Africa by the Worldrenowned photographer Juergen Teller. He has captured the project and thepeople to help support and promote the campaign.  The whole campaign will hopefully help promote the project and allow it to continuewith maintained success for the future. Juergen Teller commented ‘I came back completely energized and full oflife. It was truly inspiring to meet Simone Cipriani and the whole ITC team. Itmade a lot of sense to go with Vivienne to Africa.’ VivienneWestwood, in collaboration with the ITC, have created a long-term objective touse fashion as a vehicle out of poverty. From the slums of Nairobi to the most barren rural areas, someof the world’s most disadvantaged women, marginalized by illness oroppression and the daily trials of extreme poverty, are empowered by thisprogram. The Ethical Fashion Programme has already helped over 7,000 women toimprove their lives. Without the income provided through the Programme, localcommunities would otherwise be forced to deplete the natural resources aroundthem by cutting down trees to make charcoal to sell. The resultingdeforestation is an international catastrophe.

Globale-tailer, yoox.com joins with Vivienne Westwood to ensure the programmeproduces products which are truly ethical and made from recycled materialsunder conditions of fair labour, reaching customers around the world. Yoox.comis a welcome partner in making fashion fair and available to all.

The White Door

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of styling two competition winners from the Beauty Spot in Drogheda. The prize was a styling session with me in the fabulous White Door boutique on Dublin’s Exchequer Street, and has fast become one of the top stores in town. Famously known for it’s Hello Skinny jeans (of which I am a huge fan and proud owner!), I showed the ladies how to find the perfect jeans for them, depending on their preference for skinny, bootcut, straight leg jeans! Hello Skinny has a fantastic range of styles, lengths and colours and they fit and shape you like no other jean I have come across in my years. They don’t lose shape or elasticity and I highly recommend taking a trip to the store to check them out!

wedding lust

When I get married I want my pictures to look like this. I mean. Wow. Talk about amateur dramatics. Aside from that, this is the all time top of my list posed wedding pic. Jamie and Kate bring a whole new edge to wedding photography; it kind of reminds me of Twilight in a good way. Bella and Edward in 15 years time. And now that the nuptials are over and the  dress is in the dry cleaners, the lady herself is the cover girl of the September issue (the US one of course, Anna has spent hours on it!). The September issue of all fashion mags is the key issue for every publishing house. It’s the highest selling for the simple reason…this is the issue that marks the turn of the fashion season. We are officially in Fall/Winter 2011. The best of the designers, the catwalk trend reports, the how to wear advice etc are documented by in the key issue of the year. After all, they did make a film about it and as it was once said, if fashion was a religion, Vogue would be the bible.

Drool for Balmain

Oh I just love Balmain. I will never in my life be able to afford it but I will endeavour to try and replicate it’s style vicariously through ASOS, Awear, The Kooples (my new label crush) and All Saints.

For those of you with some spare pennies, Balmain are now taking pre-orders on their A/W collection so for those feeling generous, I’ll have this whole outfit. Please.

ASOS A/W 2011/12 … just a peek.

I just took receipt of the ASOS Autumn/Winter 2011 lookbook and OMG I’m officially in love. And potentially broke.

I’m not going to spoil it for you, but here is a quick look at what to expect from the online retailer. This shot reminds me of Mulberry for some reason. No justification but it was the first designer that came into my head when I saw the Autumnal colours and beautifully crafted leather bags (on the right).

Key trend hint: Don’t be afraid of clashing colours! LFW had so much of it. And make red your new colour!

Burberry Autumn/Winter

I am so excited about this post. I am honored to be on Burberry’s press list and one of the advantages of that is seeing imagery of new campaigns and new seasons well in advance. So when I received an official email from Burberry tosay with their new Autumn/Winter campaign shot by my photographer idol, Mario Testino, I got just a little thrilled.

The images feature new cast members Edie Campbell,  Milly Simmonds, Callum Turner and existing Burberry campaign model Cara Delevingne and paint an enthralling picture of what to expect from this iconic label. Christopher Bailey can do no wrong in my eyes and whatever I see from Burberry…well..it just makes sense for me. I look at the pieces coming down the catwalk at London Fashion week each season and I find myself giving the same response “Ok, Christopher you might just better yourself every season”. Burberry has always been my style especially last S/S when I almost fainted at the sight of nude studded leather jackets and splashes of aquamarine thrown in for good measure.
